What is Victorian Property Sales Data?
When a property is sold, conveyancers or legal practitioners must lodge the transaction details with the State Revenue Office (SRO) as part of the settlement process.
This information is then validated by the Valuer-General Victoria (VGV) and forms the authoritative property sales dataset that underpins Victoria’s land valuation and administration systems.
Accessing Victorian Property Sales Data
Access to Property Sales Data (PSD) is through the PSD platform is available to organisations and professionals who require Victorian property sales information as part of their ongoing business activities relating to land and property.
This includes:
- A government department or agency (commonwealth, state or local), statutory authority or its agent;
- Certified valuers and valuation firms;
- Licensed estate agents and real estate practices;
- Persons contracted by the Department to provide services to the customer segments listed above.
Applications are assessed to verify eligibility, professional credentials, the legitimacy of intended use, and alignment with the Ministerial Direction under section 5(2) of the Valuation of Land Act 1960.
For all other customers, the Property Sales History for individual properties can be purchased from LANDATA® via Property Sales History and Valuation Report.
